Located on Coventry University Technology Park, a business park designed to encourage collaboration between the university and knowledge-based businesses, the three buildings are being repurposed as office accommodation for university research teams. The refurbishment utilises the building’s existing electrical networks, while the CMD Ltd workstation power modules will bring power distribution to each desk location and provide sockets and charging at the desk.

CMD Ltd has provided 160 Elite under desk power modules for use across the three buildings. The four-gang units are individually fused for added resilience and will connect to the existing power distribution network, via the building’s existing floor boxes.

For the on desk solution, CMD Ltd has provided stylish Harmony units in anodised silver with black fascia, each of which contains two 13 amp, individually fused sockets, along with twin type A and C chargers.

Andrew Smith,  Senior Electrical Engineer at Coventry University Estates Department commented: “We have used CMD workstation power modules for under desk and on desk requirements for a number of years because we know we can rely on the quality and durability of the product, along with a service-driven approach to ensuring we have the right solution for each specific environment.

“As always, with this project, the CMD Ltd team worked with us to understand the specific needs of these research facilities and provide solutions that offer the right resilience, functionality and aesthetics for the university, and for the research professionals who will work in these buildings.”
